1999天上人應芬蘭Taisto的要求，在德國一家機構說好話，然後也去了芬蘭，他的故事連同冒稱是希尼團契主席的謊言也被一位Haavald Slaaten寫成綠色封面的書，有歐洲和北美版。

天上人2001年九月從緬甸監牢被買贖出來飛到曼谷，接機人群中有不懂中文的紐西蘭作家，他藉著翻譯採訪寫成號稱真實故事且含有隱藏的假見證及異常真實見證的暢銷書《天上人》於2003年風行全球非華語教會。。。。內容略去其中舊的不實說法，但加入新的誇張不實的細節，並有其他以有關人士名義發出的美言作為包裝。本書內容和編寫方式，十分迎合不能真正了解中國內部實況的西方熱心基督徒胃口。因為作者本身從頭就被天上人巧妙誇張的假見證所騙，被捲入關係利害和面子彼此牽連的大漩渦裏，導致西方廣大讀者群因無法細心客觀比較，就誤信此《天上人》暢銷書上一切陳述為真，產生滾雪球式的以訛傳訛現象，使得中西屬靈領袖們許多明知不妥的知情人感到無力挽救。此年度之書堪稱為世紀之騙。

The Heavenly Man was bought out of prison in Myanmar in Sep. 2001 and flew to Bangkok. Among the people who picked him up at the airport was a New Zealand writer who does not understand Chinese. He used translators and interviews to write the best-selling book《Heavenly Man》 with hidden false testimony that claims to be a remarkebel true story, and became popular in non-Chinese-speaking churches around the world 2003.
Old untruths have been omitted, but new exaggerated details have been added, wrapped up with other fine words in the name of the people involved. The book is written and organized in such a way that it appeals to enthusiastic Christians in the West who do not have a true understanding of the inner reality of China. Because the authors themselves have been deceived from the beginning by the cleverly exaggerated false testimonies of the Heavenly Man, they have been caught up in the maelstrom of relationship interests and face-saving, resulting in a snowballing phenomenon of misrepresentation by the masses of readers in the West who are unable to make careful objective comparisons and mistakenly believe all the statements in the bestseller 《Heavenly Man》to be true, and leaving many knowledgable and knowledgeable Chinese and Western spiritual leaders who know that something is wrong and are powerless to do anything to save the situation. 天上人1999到緬甸會見妻兒後，號稱有當地孤兒及訓練事工等進行，收取奉獻。因為要帶全家到德國就編造故事做藉口，指鄰近的劉民和牧師負責之晨曦戒毒事工高掛中華民國國旗，惹來軍方注意，天上人被連累所以被逼離開，停止緬甸事工。天上人以怪罪他人來爭取同情的說法記載在書中此頁。（此指控後來傳到劉民和牧師處，他親口證實從來沒有張掛中華民國國旗。原來他是莫名其妙做了代罪羔羊）
